Rediscovering my love and passion for writing.

My experience as a writer.

Ever since I was a kid, writing has been my escape and my joy.

I still remember the thrill of creating fictional worlds on my dad’s old laptop, proudly sharing my stories with my family and teachers.

Two of them, Cristina and Esther, saw my talent and encouraged me to keep writing.

Despite their encouragement, I abandoned my stories after finishing some of them and returned to being a normal kid.

Background story.

Fast forward to 2022, the previous lockdown caused me to glue to my computer, lost in the addictive world of video games.

Then one day, a random YouTube video about overcoming modern-day addictions popped up on my feed.

That was the day I decided to take back control of my life and stomped on the world of self-improvement.

I ditched video games with other addictions and started training calisthenics in a park near my house, together with some other good habits such as reading and meditating.

How I started writing.

After a year and a half of improving my physique and mental health, I stumbled upon the game of entrepreneurship.

Inspired by all of these successful gurus, I started all kinds of business models with the hope of making some money with one of them.

I tried:

• Day trading,
• Amazon FBA
• Copywriting
• Ghostwriting
• YouTube automation
• Building websites
• Making a self-improvement YouTube channel

After mindlessly jumping from one business model to another, I realized the problem wasn’t about the business model: it was about me.

Instead of doing something which I was passionate about and enjoyed doing, I was chasing the “shiny object” looking for a quick, easy 10k a month.

Which in 99% of the cases, doesn’t work.

So instead of jumping to another business model, I took a step back and realised that the answer was in front of me all the time:

My passion has always been writing.

My goals as a writer.

To be honest, I want to spend some time doing what I love, talk about my insights and help others who are a few steps behind me.

It would be nice to make some cash out of this, but I’m not in a rush or something like I would have been doing other side hustles.

I’ll be documenting my journey and sharing what I learn as a digital writer here on Medium and my X (Twitter).
